West Ham Women’s expert Michelle Irons believes Miri Taylor would be a “good fit” for Paul Konchesky’s side after the 22-year-old was linked to the Hammers.
The Times’ Molly Hudson reported (30 December, via Twitter) that Liverpool and the Hammers are both showing an interest in the 22-year-old Angel City midfielder.
Irons has been impressed with Taylor and has highlighted Konchesky’s desire to work with younger players.
Bit of transfer news: understand there’s been interest from West Ham and Liverpool for Angel City’s 22-year-old midfielder Miri Taylor
“She’s a young player and with her versatility and originally being from London, West Ham would be a good fit for Taylor. However I’m not sure how she would fit our system,” Irons exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“I couldn’t see her replacing Honoka Hayashi in central midfield or playing ahead of Vivienne Asseyi but having said that the season is not over, and we are on the verge of qualifying for the Quarter Finals of the Conti Cup so there are plenty of games to play.
“Paul Konchesky is a keen admirer of young players. He has used Halle Houssein, Sophie Hilyerd and Thea Kyvag for several games this season. Taylor has gained great experience playing in the NWSL but in my own opinion I would suggest the WSL is the ideal environment for any young player to develop.
“On a personal note, she seems to have adapted to the NWSL league quite well and appears to be a well-liked and popular member of their team.”
