Kate Walsh Has A Secret Behind Her Ageless Look At 55 – TheThings

Kate Walsh is embracing her youthful looks and getting older in Hollywood.
It’s no secret that Hollywood makes little to no space for actresses over a certain age. For example, Maggie Gyllenhaal was once labeled as 'too old' to play the romantic interest of a 50-year-old actor when she was only 30!
In addition to her, Jane Fonda, Jennifer Aniston, and Julianne Moore are just some of the many actresses who have openly spoken about this issue in the past.
Well, at 55 years old, Kate Walsh looks just as beautiful as ever. In a recent interview, the Grey’s Anatomy actress revealed what skincare routine she follows in order to maintain her ageless look. Plus, she opened up about what it is like to age in an industry that often wants women to remain ageless.

You probably know Kate Walsh for her roles in shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Umbrella Academy, and Emily in Paris, but her career is so much bigger than that. Believe it or not, this successful actress originally had no intention of acting professionally. In fact, she first started working in a fast-food chain before she tried her luck in modeling and teaching.
In the late 80s, she moved to Chicago and joined the Piven Theatre Workshop. During the 90s, she started landing some lesser roles on TV shows such as Homicide: Life on the Street, Law & Order, and The Drew Carey Show. Since then, she’s appeared in over 90 TV shows and movies, according to IMDb.
Kate Walsh didn’t get her breakout role in 2005 when she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Addison Montgomery, the estranged spouse of Derek Shepherd (played by Patrick Dempsey).
Her character soon became a fan-favorite, and in 2007, she got her own spin-off, Private Practice, alongside Taye Diggs, Tim Daly, Amy Brenneman, Chris Lowell, and Audra McDonald.

In a recent interview for Woman’s Day, Kate Walsh shared her secret skincare routine."I tend to have dry skin, so I've always been mad about hydration, using body oils and creams," Walsh admitted.
The Grey’s Anatomy star admitted to using products such as Biologique Recherche P50 as a base for her face and BIOEFFECT EGF Serum.
In addition to this, Walsh admitted to being a fan of budget-friendly skincare products. She especially loves the "super affordable" hyaluronic acid from Watts Beauty. "I use it in conjunction with any kind of serum, oil, or cream for my face particularly, to lock in the moisture."

When asked to explain her skincare routine, the actress said: "It's all about hydration." And she added, "I'm a big fan of basic and keeping it simple and that you don't have to spend a fortune on things to keep your skin hydrated and healthy and looking good."
At 55, Kate Walsh looks just as stunning as ever. It’s no secret that many Hollywood stars and celebrities try to do everything to stop the signs of aging from reflecting on their faces.
Instead, Walsh has grown to embrace this. The actress told Woman’s Day that since turning 50, she’s noticed that "life gets better and better; I get more conscious and wiser."
She also talked about the societal pressure to remain ageless. "This idea that we're supposed to stay the same, or stay how we were when we were 20 to when we're 30, when we're 40, when we're 50 — that's just a fallacy."
She also talked about what aging is like, "no one really tells you what it's like to get older — but it's pretty fabulous if you go with the flow and make the changes that you need to make to take care of yourself. Every challenge, in many ways, post-50 has also been a great gift. It's just more information on how to take better care of myself and how to live well."
