Director of Oneida County Department of Social Services/Office for the Aging
We, the members of Oneida County Office for the Aging and Continuing Care team, serve the elderly and individuals with disabilities of Oneida County as well as their families. We assess individuals to identify unmet physical, medical, psychological, social, and financial needs. Care plans are created and implemented together with individuals and their families. Appropriate and available services are provided and referrals made to other agencies when needed. We monitor the plans, evaluate their effectiveness and adjust them as necessary.
We work with the Department of Mental Health and other agencies to promote and maintain the mental well-being of older adults in Oneida County. We provide seniors with special needs easier access to services and, when needed, mental health assessments and evaluations are performed in the client’s home.
