Get dolled up: A Halloween makeup tutorial – Stuff

Halloween is nearly here! To celebrate spooky season, makeup artist Lara Daly shows us how to create a makeup look inspired by the unforgettable John Galliano for Christian Dior dolls that haunted the runways between 2007 and 2010 – watch the how-to video above.
The Dior dolls ranged from soft and ethereal (think Lily Cole and Jessica Stam) to dark and devilish (Sasha Pivovarova).
The mastermind behind this iconic period of runway beauty was none other than the Mother herself, makeup artist Pat McGrath, who worked with Galliano for the ready-to-wear and epic couture shows.

In the video, Lara’s soft and simplified version uses just three key products: a tube of $2 face paint, metallic eye shadow, and a red lipstick. If you’re feeling really spooky, swap out the red for dark purple and use a black pencil to draw the eyebrows instead – the messier the better!
Add a touch of tulle, some stick-on pearls, and you have a perfect last-minute look – one that also ticks all the boxes of Ensemble’s guide to a fun and non-offensive Halloween.
